Shirley Temple Doll Plaster Statue 1930's Chalkware Soapstone
1930's soapstone or chalkware resin figure of Shirley Temple. Has flocked dress! Somewhat crudely painted, probably made in Japan, these statues were common in the 1930's and were clearly made to represent Shirley. Shirley has some black on her hair and bow, however, upon closer inspection I it's sort of shiny like at one time it might have been a gold or silver gilt that oxidized and changed dark.
About 6" high, she has a couple of nicks out of a couple of her curls but is otherwise good for being so old! Cute piece of Shirley nostalgia. |
