This book contains lots of recipes for appetizers, sides, main dishes, salads, desserts, and snacks, organized by olympic event in which the contributors were to participate -- if they had been able to. President Carter boycotted the games due to the Soviet war in Afghanistan.
23 chapters, from Archery to Yachting, each introduced with a history of the sport in the Olympics, its participants, and the days in which the events were to be held, and each containing from about 5 to 40 recipes, depending on the number of participants in the event. Beside each recipe is the contributor's name, residence, age, height, weight, school, and hours spent in training.
Sample recipes include Christmas Divinity (from Deana Kim Dunson of the swimming team), Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie (John Kovach, field hockey), and basic quiche and souffle recipes, each with variations, from diver Brian Bungum.
In clean, collectible condition with only slight edge wear to the covers.
