Crescent Pottery George Jones & Sons England: Antique Black Transferware 11" Dinner Charger Plate
This magnificent plate was made sometime between 1907 and 1921, judging by the backstamp and impressed mark.
Bright art deco design against a white background, beneath a geometrically embossed rim. In the center is a bucolic 18th century landscape drawing of men working a wheat field, women with sheaves of wheat on their heads waiting by the river, with willow trees and a church in the background beneath a billowy sky.
A gorgeous display piece on a wall or in a cabinet!
Size: 11 inches in diameter, this sturdy glazed earthenware charger weighs 1 pound 10 ounces out of the package.
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or utensil marks. Overall clean crazing appropriate to its age.
