Japanese Combat Troops PNG Award Ceremony WWII News Photo Rare + Bonus!
Offered today from my personal collection of Japanese WWII photography is a lot of (2) rare news photos taken from a photo album purchased from a late Japanese officer`s estate. These are Yomiuri Shimbun News photos taken by war correspondents, & were used by the Japanese government in newspapers & magazines as propaganda during the years leading up to WWII and during the war. These are very rare & hard to come by, especially in this condition. Usually I would be selling these individually, but since they were found inside photo album & were glued in too well to remove from page, you will be getting a bonus photo on reverse side with the main featured photo. Yes, that is right, two historic WWII era photos for the very reasonable price of just one WWII News war photo! Images are very sharp and in very good condition for age! These would be a wonderful addition to any collection of WWII photography. Offered today at a very reasonable $6.99 and shipping by regular air(not insured) is just $4.00($3.00 shipping + $1.00 padded envelope). EMS insured shipping is available for more! I do offer shipping discounts on multiple purchases, so buy more & save!! Any questions please contact Greg at gregphotos4u@aol.com. Thanks for reading!
The featured photo today is an interesting shot of Japanese combat troops in PNG, Papua New Guinea. They are receiving awards for their distinguished action in combat in PNG. These are crack combat troops & you can see they all are wearing wicked looking combat knives on left side. Release date of this photo is Showa 17.10.3. That would be 1942, Oct. 3rd. Keep in mind that the release date is when photo was deemed safe to print & publish. Actual event happened some weeks or maybe months beforehand! A great action war shot for your collection!
The reverse side bonus photo is a neat shot of women training for self defense of their homeland using a traditional Japanese weapon, the Takeyari, or bamboo spear. By this time of the war Japan was losing & the government believed the US troops would be invading the mainland, so therefore this type of preparation was being undertaken in many parts of Japan. Publish date was Showa 19.3.17, or 1944, Mar. 17th. Again, remember that the event happened sometime before approval, or publish date.
